My father and I live several houses north of Southern Crossing and Hwy 11. My father called me to say that the water had entered our utility room. He started moving items out of that room and moving items off the floor. This was at 11:30pm. My father said that at 8 pm the water was just on the south end of the neighbors house, which is south of us and next to the small stream there on Hwy 11. When I arrived to the house at 12:20pm the water was flooded into the entire yard and was at calf leg high. I immediately grabbed basic items and began filling my SUV with those items. Meanwhile my father and boyfriend were moving other items.
Within an hour and half the water rose one foot or more. My car had fell deeper into the ground with water and mud coving the tires. A good friend was able to pull my SUV out and we have moved to safety. We have lost everything that was in the detached garage, air conditioning unit, water heater, furnace motor, sump pump, walnut wood damage to the inside of the house and other great valuables, as well as my fathers car was flooded. Amazing how bad the water grew.
